Type AB1

Note: As of 30 April 2009, Elster is no longer accepting orders for the AB1 meter. As utilities migrate to smart metering systems, along with rising raw material cost, the market for single phase electromechanical meters has declined. Elster has responded to the changes in the market by offering the AB1G meter. 

Our AB1 single phase electromechanical meter is available as a self-contained, socket-type or transformer-type meter with four, five or six terminals for socket-mounted applications.

Operating with the philosophy that the meter has become an information node, Elster has designed electromechanical meters to integrate different communication technologies into the product line. These communication modules are mounted under the meter's cover and support Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems. The modules can be supplied on either the single phase or polyphase meters. Existing installed meters can also be retrofitted with the communication devices at a later date.
