System design and project management

Elster’s Disciplined Project Management Approach

Elster employs a disciplined approach to project management that relies on a traditional Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to achieve established milestones and deliver projects on time and on budget. The purpose of the WBS is to maintain a coordinated, complete picture of program management.

Backed by a Highly-Skilled, Professional Support Team

Elster’s services and support teams are the best in the business with a proven track record of providing robust, utility-grade solutions, systems integration and installation services to a global customer base. Every Elster project manager is required to obtain the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional PMP® certification, the most important globally-recognized and independently validated credential for project managers.

Whatever our customers require, we bring to bear, including experts in software, hardware, training, systems engineering, network design and systems integration. Together, we provide utilities with the tools they need to leverage all the inherent potential in the EnergyAxis system.

Intelligent Network Design

As the Smart Grid continues to evolve, more emphasis will be placed on network design. Every Elster Smart Grid project begins with developing a system architecture that incorporates network design. This important first step reduces the potential risk to utilities of deploying a solution that doesn’t meet their objectives. For Elster, network planning and design is an iterative process, encompassing topological design, network-synthesis and network-realization.

With numerous installations worldwide, Elster has gained valuable field data from analysis of actual network performance. Elster uses this information to continually improve our system features and revise the network estimation process for the benefit of our customers.
